Fintrade-Mercer’s Jari Vepsäläinen featured in Helsingin Sanomat

Chairman and Founder of Fintrade-Mercer, Jari Vepsäläinen, was featured in Finland’s leading newspaper Helsingin Sanomat in an article highlighting the different rules that apply to doing business in China.

Vepsäläinen describes the amazing change that has occurred in the country since he first came to Beijing in 1985 to complete his legal studies. Not only has China’s GDP increased by 15-fold to what it was 30 years ago, the population has also grown by 300 million since then to 1.38 billion. In a nutshell, Vepsäläinen emphasises that products have to differentiate themselves, they should be customised for the Chinese market and healthy relations to the authorities should be maintained in order to stand a chance in China.
